What got published this year?

Everyone is out there doing their awards eligibility posts, and to be honest I am not sure I have anything awards eligible to speak of, but I thought I’d do a quick reminder of what saw the light this year and what you might expect next year.

Honorable Mention: “Learn to Fly

Technically this was published in December of last year, but I would bet most people didn’t see it until January due to the holiday. This is a tiny flash fiction piece inspired by my time in Seattle, so if you missed it the first time around please check it out.

Marquee in Verse

This series of four short sets of verses was displayed on the Grandin Theatre marquee this spring as part of a grant provided by the City of Roanoke through the Year of the Artist campaign. It was a lot of fun, and I hope I can do more projects like these in the future. Technically this isn’t really a first print situation I would imagine? But it was a fun public project, and you can see it documented on the blog.

“Three, Reversed”

This poem was published in Artemis Journal, which runs in print and is a local-to-me journal that fundraises against domestic violence. I wrote it thanks to inspiration from a Hernandooney Infernal Salon, and it came out this past summer.

Thanks, everyone, for your support, as always! Next year I should have more announcements about publication dates for A River Wide, so keep your eyes peeled! As always, you can find a full breakdown of my publication history under My Writing.
