Announcing: Marquee in Verse

It’s fall, soon to be winter, and here in Southwest Virginia everything is dying back. Yet I’ve planted some new seeds in anticipation of spring and National Poetry Month, thanks to the generous funding of the City of Roanoke and the National Endowment of the Arts.

In April of 2023, I will be coordinating a public art installation called “Marquee in Verse” in partnership with the Grandin Theatre. Four couplets composed by yours truly will be displayed on the Grandin Theatre marquee, and I will be working on a film screening and workshop as well to support community poets.

I’ve been going to the Grandin for film for years. I love the well-kept, old-fashioned interior and the community of the place. I’m so happy to support this local arts keystone for our community in this collaborative way. I can’t wait to see what April brings!
