A 2026 Appearances Wrap-up

I love when a project finally hits completion, because I love having an excuse to get out and do book events! And though my time is somewhat limited, I did manage to get out and do some fun stuff this year, so this post is really just an excuse to share a few pictures and video links for interested readers to circle back and catch some of the fun.

It’s kind of amazing that I managed to make it to five whole events this year! But I did! And they were all wonderful in different ways.

I had a wonderful time at in-person events this fall. I think my favorite one was probably the event at Historic Smithfield – it was so atmospheric! – but unfortunately I took awful pictures that night so you’ll just have to imagine the fire, the chill October air, and the soup.

That said, I was so happy to chat with Kyra Hinton at my launch event with War on Books. It’s wonderful to support another local author and a local bookshop (War on Books does really fun pop-up events, and Angelo and I have collaborated before, so it was great that this one worked out). It was also my first time at Second Cafe, and I love that space. Everyone who came out was so supportive and I’m immensely grateful.

I don’t yet have a video for the original launch of the book with the publisher, which features a reading of the first chapter and me doing a very nervous impression of an author being interviewed live, but I do have a video link for the wildest super-fun book reading I did in the Cooney-Hernandez Twitch room. There are a ton of authors on this and it’s worth listening to everyone, but my section starts at an hour and forty minutes. So much thanks to C.S.E. Cooney for bringing these folks together.

My last event was an awesome evening with Andrew K. Clark just last night, coming in all the way from Asheville. We had a great time! The cover photo to this post features his book, which also came out in September.

Now it’s time for me to run off and make words. But being as I am resolutely ignoring social media for the next two months, please stick around the blog — I will be posting more!
